Mohlomi: the inspirer of the next generation leaders

Mohlomi, as he was an older man, met the future king Moshoshoe as he was still young. Mohlomi saw the future in the young man, and gave him an earring. Moshoshoe then asked Mohlomi: 'what is the medicine for building a great empire?' Mohlomi answered him and said 'there is no such medicine! The only true medicine is the heart! Let me give you 3 wisdoms to become a truly great leader:
  1. Love your people
  1. Know your people
  1. Honor your people.'

Nelson Mandela said:
'Every now and than, a generation is called upon to be great. You can be that great generation.'

I can imagine that Mohlomi saw the possibility to become a leader of a great generation, and therefor imparted as much of his own wisdom on this young leader.  We now live in 2015, 200 years after Mohlomi died, with a legacy of true and healthy leadership. Can the next generation of young leaders in South Africa, who are now 15 – 30 years old, be this great generation.'

I am convinced that this generation has all the potential to do this. Only months ago an old student, in Cape Town, wrote 3 challenging and super inspiring letters, which went viral. She wrote them to the black and the white Africans, and to the government. She called upon all to stop complaining, and to start working towards a positive future.

How can you, as a young leader between 15 – 30, grow into your potential to be a great and serving leader, as Mohlomi was praying for that they would emerge by the thousands in this beautiful country.

We as xpand South Africa, can support this process in some small steps, by providing clear cut and inspiring ‘’career – coaching – workshops’’ in high schools and Universities. If you want to invite us, check our website, or mail us sa@xpand.eu.

And if you are a leader older then 30, with a passion for South Africa, ask yourself, how can I become a mentor for these new leaders emerging around me.

We wish you all, from all ages, a passion for righteous and healthy leadership, at home at work, in church and throughout all of society.
